At Princes Park - Turf Oval 1, our St Kilda 1st XI were unable to stop Carlton 1st XI on a frustrating day.
Our totals were 9/227, against Carlton 1st XI's 7/292. Fifty for Brandon Faber, who finished with 74 off 86 balls. Blake Macdonald's 52 off 63 balls was a half-century to remember. Ed Newman made a cracking 52 not out off 130 balls, a well-made fifty. Our opponents' Michael Archer was the standout with the ball, taking five for 46.
Joshua Bartlett bowled beautifully to finish with three for 78. Matthew Hennig also took two for 87. Connor Rutland posted 75 for the hosts, a polished fifty.
Credit to our opponents, who played well.
Chins up, everyone.
