It was a good day out for our St Kilda 2nd XI, who defeated Richmond 2nd XI in a polished team performance.
Our innings: 8/302. Richmond 2nd XI's: 9/285. Fifty for Brandon Faber, who finished with 97 off 134 balls. Joshua Bartlett passed fifty on the way to 63 not out off 102 balls with seven fours. Jackson Reed did the damage for the hosts with three for 44.
With the ball, James Gray did the damage, claiming three for 83 off 28 overs. Lachlan Graf chipped in with two for 27. Archit Bhatia posted a great hundred for our opponents, finishing on 108.
It was a terrific all-round effort, with contributions from right through the line-up. That's the first win of the season for the boys.
Thanks to the hosts for the contest.
