The St Kilda 3rd XI had to give best to Fitzroy Doncaster 3rd XI on a tough day.
We batted first and finished with 8/207 on the board from 45 overs. Leading the way was Dan Meddings with 38 off 43 balls. Tom Deighton added a useful 37 off 75 balls. Joel Maaskant was the pick of Fitzroy Doncaster 3rd XI's bowlers with four for 26.
Our opponents reached the target at 7/210 in 41.3 overs. Credit to Armaan Datta, who made a half-century (55) for the hosts. Dinuk de Silva bowled nicely to finish with two for 22.
There are plenty of positives to take out of this one.
The boys will be keen to bounce back.
