It was a satisfying day for our St Kilda 1st XI, who chalked up a win over Geelong 1st XI by seven wickets at Geelong Cricket Ground on Saturday.
Our bowlers restricted Geelong 1st XI to 9/229 from 50 overs. Credit to Liam Blackford, who made a half-century (69) for our opponents. Harry Dixon finished with five for 43, a five-wicket haul to savour. Will Lovell also took three for 35.
In reply, the team reached the target at 3/230 in 38.4 overs. Dixon posted a half-century, making 92 off 87 balls with seven fours and three sixes. Blake Macdonald also got among the runs with 42 off 44 balls. Peter Handscomb was unbeaten on 34 off 22 balls.
A cracking result for the boys.
Well played, all.
