There was plenty to celebrate as our St Kilda 1st XI got the better of Footscray 1st XI at home.
In terms of totals, it was St Kilda 1st XI 10/291 and Footscray 1st XI 10/236. A classy 86 off 159 balls from Blake Macdonald was the highlight. Ed Newman made a brilliant 77 off 183 balls, a well-made fifty. Adam Crosthwaite provided good support with 43. A five-wicket haul to Max Birthisel for the visitors (five for 78).
With the ball, Will Lovell did the damage, claiming three for 51 off 18.4 overs. Matthew Hennig chipped in with three for 54. Fifty for Dylan Kight, who made 91 for our opponents. Travis Dean helped the visitors with 34.
An excellent result for the side.
A day to enjoy for everyone at St Kilda.
