It was a day to regroup for our St Kilda 2nd XI, who came up short against Fitzroy Doncaster 2nd XI on a day that didn't go our way.
Fitzroy Doncaster 2nd XI's innings ended at 10/222, ours at 10/126. Jack Cunnington batted well for 39 off 48 balls with five fours. Angus Newman contributed 21 off 71 balls. Kobe Smith was the best of the hosts' bowlers, finishing with four for 24.
James Gray led the way with the ball, finishing with four for 72. Matthew Bremner made a stylish 90 for our opponents, a well-deserved half-century.
There are plenty of positives to take out of this one.
We'll go again.
